REOPENING OF CLUB BARS AND RESTAURANTS

Bowls England has updated advice following the Government’s announcement that licensed premises, including bowls clubs, are allowed to open from Saturday 4 July in their capacity as bars and restaurants.

Following the changes by Bowls England, revised affiliation forms are now available here

If you did not send forms F and G with your original submission in October 2020, please can you download the forms, complete them

and send them back before 1st May 2021

​UNBADGED POINTS TABLE

The Unbadged points table has been carried over to 2021 as no games were played in 2020. View table

​ECWBA 200 CLUB

Each share costs £10 and will be entered into four draws, which will take place in April, July, October and November. At each draw three money prizes will be won, the amounts depend on the number of shares sold. In 2020 there were 72 subscribers and the prizes at each draw were £43.20, £28.80 and £18.00

Applications for 2021 close on 31st March 2021, so please support the County and subscribe now using the form here

MYRA SMITH RIP

We are sorry to have to announce the death of  Myra Smith on 11th February 2021

As Myra had a large family, space at the chapel is limited to invitation only. If you would like watch a live stream of the service,

The death is announced of Maureen Ellis, wife of Tony (ECBA President in 2011), on 12th April 2021.

CONGRATULATIONS!!

In case you were not aware - Essex has gained two new Champions at the National Finals (currently underway at Leamington Spa)

In the Ladies fours final the Clockhouse BC team of Hayley Kenny, Michelle Squires, Serena Madgewick and Rebecca Smith,

came from 7-13 down to win 20-13

In the Mens Triples, Essex County BC’s Chris Muir, Steve Gunnell and Edward Morris had a 18-11 win in the final

UNLUCKY EDWARD

We are sad to report that Edward Morris narrowly lost the Final of the Mens Two Bowls Singles at Leamington, late on Tuesday evening

Edward, a former Two Bowl England champion lost to his England colleague Sam Tolchard (Kings, Devon). In form Tolchard, won the Four Bowl Singles earlier in the tournament and was runner-up in the Pairs

CONGRATULATIONS! AGAIN!!

Finally, after 6 attempts at Leamington, Elaine Score and Edward Morris won the National Mixed Pairs this afternoon

They outplayed the Yorkshire pair of Sue Allen and Mark Walton to run out winners 23-5 (after 15 ends)

EBA AGM

The AGM of the Essex Bowling Association will still be held this Saturday 11th December at 10.30am at the Falcon Bowling Club. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, Jon Cockcroft (CEO Bowls England) is unable to attend at 11.30am. He sends his apologies, but assures us that he will re-schedule a visit in the New Year
