MESSAGE FROM THE SECRETARY re 2025 COMPETITION ENTRIES
Following several meetings regarding the competition portal, I am able to tell you that this will be available for the ECWBA competition entries for the 2025 season. We are in the process of completing this and as soon as we have the dates between which the entries for the county competitions can be made you will be notified. A full step by step guide will be issued to aid those who are not familiar with entering competitions in this way.
The club registration and affiliation forms will be sent out in October as I am still waiting for Bowls England to confirm their fees for 2025. Included on the affiliation form will be the order for the ECWBA handbooks and payment for Essex Patrons. Entries for the Benevolent Triples and Patrons' Day will be made separately in the same way as this year.
As yet I am unable to issue our Calendar for 2025 because I am still waiting for Bowls England to confirm the dates for the Johns Trophy, Walker Cup and National Finals. Please use the dates for this year as a rough guide and I will publish the 2025 diary as soon as I can. The booking forms for the President's Day Trip 2025 will be sent out once the diary has been confirmed. Thank you for your patience, I think mine is wearing thin!!

MESSAGE FROM THE SECRETARY re PATRONS DAY
This is a reminder that entries for our Essex Patron's Day should be in to Sheila Brickel by the 16th August 2024, so it isn't too late to reply. The forms may be found here (.doc .pdf) or via the Forms Tab.
Patron's Day is open to ALL affiliated lady bowlers in the county. It is a fun afternoon of bowls and a chance to meet others.
An added bonus is that you won't have to prepare food when you get home because the bowling is followed by a meal.
If you are already a patron for 2024 (see the list in the county handbook p. 3 - 5) it is £9, if you haven't become a patron this year it is £10 which includes the green fees, a game of bowls and a meal.
So come on Ladies - rally up your members and join us on Friday 13th September at either Hockley or Maldon.
The day will be lucky for some!!
Kind regards, Jill
Hon. Sec. ECWBA

MESSAGE FROM THE SECRETARY
I sadly have to inform you that 4 of our current Officers of the Association will not be standing for re-election at the AGM in November. Each of them has worked tirelessly for the county, often in more than one role and now wish to retire. Pat Brown - A Area Secretary for 18 years, Pauline Mount - A Area Selector and EBA Board member for 9 years, Linda Mills - Bowls England Delegate and EBA Board member for 9 years and Sheila Brickel - Assistant/Match Secretary, EBA Board member and representative on the Coaching committee for 8 years. Also Carole Morgan has had to step down as Junior Vice-President.
We cannot thank them enough for their time and dedication, but we now have to find ladies to fill these posts.
The County cannot function without a full complement of Officers. I have prepared job descriptions for the posts that need to be filled and I urge you to speak to your ladies and circulate them. Theses job descriptions are available via the Forms tab. I and other Officers of the County, both past and present, are willing to talk to anyone who is interested in taking up office, so please get in touch.
Yours hopefully, Jill Polley
Hon. Sec. ECWBA
